Philosophy and Practice (PHIL) This one-day course provides information about internal audit philosophy and approach. It forces attendees to focus on exactly what should be the goal of the internal auditing function. Statements of mission along with various types of audit coverage are discussed and carefully covered. The professional auditing standards and their importance are reviewed. The relationships of the internal auditor with the audit committee, the board of directors, the external auditors and others are covered. The course provides valuable hands-on information for board members, audit committee members, auditors and others who are serious about establishing and maintaining a professional internal auditing function in their organization. A half-day course is also available.
